A fine gold plated French Bronze signed circa 1870. The movement is by Japy Freres, Probably the most famous of all the French clock makers. There clock movements were of the highest quality. It strikes the hour and half hour on a bell. The bronze figure, although unsigned, is of the highest quality. It may be signed from the bottom and not visible without disassembly. This a good investment piece that will never loose it's value. The only flaw noticed are a few chips on the outer edge of the dial between the 5 and 6 o'clock position.
